National Human Rights Committee of Qatar (NHRC) has launched an awareness campaign on the risks of heat stress in the work places.
The campaign will focus on the importance of protecting workers from heat stress, especially those who work in outdoor or high-temperature environment and to prevent from heat-related illnesses and injuries.
In a statement issued by NHRC Qatar says that heat stress is a serious health risk that can lead to a number of health problems, including heat stroke, dehydration, and fatigue. Heat stress can also make it difficult for workers to concentrate and perform their jobs safely.
NHRC campaign include a number of activities such as distributing information leaflets about heat stress; holding workshops for workers and employers on how to prevent heat stress; developing a heat stress prevention plan for workplaces
The NHRC has said that it is committed to protecting the rights of all workers, including the right to a safe and healthy workplace.
The NHRC has also said that it will work with employers and workers to develop a heat stress prevention plan for workplaces. The plan will include a number of measures including
providing workers with access to shade and water; scheduling breaks for workers in hot weather; providing workers with training on how to prevent heat stress
The NHRC has called on all workers and employers to support the campaign and to take steps to protect themselves from heat stress.
