Qatari Air Force Display Team and Italian ‘Frecce Tricolori’ aerobatic teams stunned Doha residents from their breathtaking aerobatic man-oeuvres performed on the narrow Doha Corniche Bay on Saturday & Sunday, 10-11 November 2018.
11 Italian aircraft and six PC-21 Trainer aircraft of Qatar Air Force participated. Among Italian participating aircrafts included T-346, high-tech, state of the art trainer aircraft along with Eurofighter Typhoon, a world’s most advanced swing role combat aircraft.
Among the prominent personalities present on the occasion were Lt. Gen. Settimo Caputo, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Italian Air Force, Pasquale Salzano, Italian ambassador to State of Qatar, Valerio Stella, General Manager Leonardo Qatar, Defence Attaches, officials, members of the Italian community and the guests.
Lt General Settimo Caputo, Dy. Chief of Staff of the Italian Air Force lauded the deep and long years of bilateral relations between Qatari and Italian air forces.
Aambassador Pasquale Salzano thanked M/s Leonardo, Italian & Qatari Air Force of their cooperation and support in organizing two days of extra-ordinary performance. Italian envoy said that Italy has showcased the best of it’s aircraft production – T-346 and Eurofighter Typhoon. It is to note that Eurofighter Company is a multi-nations company – Germany, Spain, Italy and United Kindom.
He said that presence of ‘Frecce Tricolori’ in Doha demonstrates ‘Excellent’ relationship between both the countries not only strong relations.
In regards to a question on Italian & Qatari defence deals during last two years, Valerio Stella, General Manager, Leonardo Qatar said that ‘we wanted to give to Qatar the chance to know our latest aeronautics technologies’.
