In it’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, Barwa Bank has launched the country’s first ever credit card that cares for the society, in partnership with Qatar Charity in a press conference held on May 3rd at Sharq Hotel Doha.

Barwa Bank Qatar Charity co-branded new credit card empowers its holders to make a difference in the community with every purchase they make, through a charity contribution that is made by Barwa Bank every time a client uses the card.

The introduction of the new card to the Bank’s clients comes in anticipation of the blessed month of Ramadan, and honors the Holy Month’s values and deeds of charity and solidarity, while propagating their positive impact on Society throughout the year.

Commenting on the occasion, Khalid Al Subaie, Group Chief Executive Officer at Barwa Bank, said: “At Barwa Bank, the welfare of our people and communities is an utmost priority in everything that we do. To maximize the blissful influence it aims to en-root in society, customers – together with automatically making a charitable contribution with every card usage – will also receive loyalty points with every purchase, which they can then redeem to pay in charity if they so choose, as well as being able to use their Shari’ah-compliant credit cards to pay directly to the Charity, in addition to the benefits of exclusive offers and discounts at popular restaurants and shops.
